Lawrence Chimerine, PhD

Dr. Chimerine is former Chairman, Chief Executive and Chief Economist of Chase Econometrics and Chairman and CEO of The WEFA Group. Dr. Chimerine has also served as Manager of US Economic Research and Forecasting of the IBM Corporation, and as Managing Director and Chief Economist at the Economic Strategy Group in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Chimerine has served on numerous governmental advisory boards, including the Economic Policy Board of the Department of Commerce, has given testimony on key economic issues before a number of Congressional committees and is a widely published author.

Dr. Chimerine received a BS in Mathematics from Brooklyn College and a PhD in Economics from Brown University.

Paul J. Isaac

Mr. Isaac is the manager of Arbiter Partners, a long-short hedge fund, and a family office.

Previously, he was the Chief Investment Officer of Cadogan Management, a fund of hedge funds firm, and a General Partner and Management Committee member of Mabon Nugent & Co, a New York broker-dealer.

Mr. Isaac received a BA with Highest Honors in Political Economy from Williams College.

Roy S. Neff

Mr. Neff has been a member of our Investment Strategy Committee since 2006. Previously, he was a partner of Gamma Capital Advisors Ltd., which managed hedge funds using quantitative strategies, and Gamma Investors, LLC, a private equity investment fund.

In 1981, he co-founded Cooper Neff & Associates, a proprietary options trading firm. After the acquisition of Cooper Neff by BNP Paribas, Mr. Neff served as co-chief executive officer of BNP/Cooper Neff, Inc., a subsidiary of the bank responsible for its derivatives trading business.

Mr. Neff graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a BS in Mathematics, and earned an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Bob R. Peck

Mr. Peck is a Managing Director of FPR Partners, an investment fund focusing on a concentrated portfolio of public stocks with a long-term horizon. Mr. Peck also serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of Princo, which manages Princeton University's endowment.

Prior to founding FPR, Mr. Peck was with the Murchison family office and RPM Metropolitan Capital, a company he co-founded, managing a concentrated portfolio of value-oriented U.S. equities and a variety of hedge funds and alternative investments. Mr. Peck also spent eight years with Perot Investments.

Mr. Peck graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with an AB in History and received an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

H. Scott Miller, CFA

Managing Partner

Mr. Miller is the Managing Partner and founder of Miller Investment Management. Previously he was the Founder and Manager of the Private Investor Group of Miller Anderson & Sherrerd. Prior to that, he worked with Goldman, Sachs & Company in its Private Investor and Investment Banking divisions.

He currently is a member of the board of directors of five private companies and of the American Swiss Foundation, and previously served on the boards of several public companies. In 2022, Mr. Miller received the Gesu School’s Spirit Medal in recognition of his service to the school and the children it serves.

Mr. Miller is a CFA charterholder. He earned a BA in Political Economy from Williams College, and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

Daniel J. Harnish, CFA

Mr. Harnish joined Miller Investment Management in 2014 and has worked throughout the firm’s three main businesses: real estate, private company investments, and investment management. He now focuses on the third category, including analysis of public securities investments and streamlining the firm’s portfolio operations.

Mr. Harnish is a CFA charterholder and earned a BA in Economics from Dartmouth College, where he competed for the water polo team as a goalie and was recognized as both an All-American First Team in 2013 and as a “Wearer of the Green”, Dartmouth’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Timothy Letter, AIF®

Mr. Letter joined Miller Investment Management in 2018 to focus on helping families, institutions, and entrepreneurs understand how their assets are allocated and on optimizing the efficiency of those allocations to achieve client investment objectives. As a lifelong financial professional, Tim enjoys partnering with clients to set, monitor, and achieve their diverse objectives. Before joining Miller, he spent 11 years with Prudential Financial, helping major financial institutions prioritize retirement planning. Before that, Tim held senior retirement roles with MFS Investment Management, Nationwide Provident and Jefferson Pilot, and he is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary.

Tim is a regular speaker and volunteer educator on various topics, including financial education, efficient banking, asset allocation, CITs, qualified plans, and retirement planning. Tim is an avid gardener, golfer, and fisherman. He lives in Bryn Mawr with his wife, Missy, and has two adult children.

Mr. Letter earned a BS in Business Administration from Lynn University.

Henry S. Miller

Mr. Miller joined Miller Investment Management in 2016 to focus on economic research and portfolio management of public and private investments. Previously, he worked in the entertainment industry for over two decades and was granted membership to both the Writers and Directors Guild of America.

Mr. Miller earned a BA in Economics from Williams College, where he was awarded the Carl Van Duyne Prize in Economics for his thesis and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa academic honor society.

Clayton P. Parrett

Mr. Parrett joined Miller Investment Management in 2015 and helps lead Miller Investment Management’s private equity investment efforts as well as participating in the firm’s public securities Portfolio Management Committee. He currently is a member of the board of directors of several private companies, including having spent nearly a decade as a board observer and advisor to Five Guys Holdings, the global franchisor of Five Guys. Mr. Parrett has overseen transactions with a cumulative value in excess of $1 billion. Previously, he gained experience in equity research at Turner Investments.

Mr. Parrett earned a BS in Finance and Accounting from Drexel University.

Thomas Wong

Mr. Wong joined Miller Investment Management in 2018 and advises clients on public and private investments. Previously, Mr. Wong led Global Proprietary Trading at Morgan Stanley and Bear Stearns, managing investment teams and trading portfolios across all asset classes, including fixed income, equities, commodities, and emerging markets. He began trading derivative products at Bankers Trust in New York, and has traded and invested in public, private, and derivative markets for over three decades.

Mr. Wong earned a B.S. with high honors in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, concentrating in Quantum Electronics and Philosophy. Mr. Wong is a long-time collector of contemporary art.

Partner Emeritus

Elwyn "Wyn" Evans, III, CFA

Mr. Evans joined Miller Investment Management in 1998, serving as the lead portfolio manager and Chief Compliance Officer until his retirement in 2021. Mr. Evans remains involved with the firm as a Senior Advisor. Previously he worked as a technical consulting engineer with Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation and directed large multi-disciplined engineering teams providing services to clients in the manufacturing, (nuclear) utility, transportation and petrochemical industries.

Mr. Evans has served as trustee and advisor to several family trusts.

Mr. Evans is a CFA charterholder. He earned a BS in Engineering from Tufts University and an MS from the University of Delaware.

Finance & Administration

Richard D. Rosen, Esq.

Mr. Rosen is the General Counsel of Miller Investment Management and a former director and senior counsel at Dentons Cohen & Grigsby, P.C., where his practice involved sophisticated estate and financial planning for closely held corporations and wealthy individuals, transition planning for family businesses, compensation planning, corporate acquisitions and dispositions, and venture capital investments.

Mr. Rosen has been a co-founder, director and/or officer of a number of companies in such fields as computer systems engineering and software, real estate leasing, oil and gas development, Scotch whiskey distribution and direct mail marketing. Mr. Rosen spent ten years with public accounting firms, ending as Managing Partner of the Pittsburgh office of Grant Thornton, and 38 years with regional and international law firms.

Mr. Rosen holds a BA in Economics from Yale University and a JD from Harvard Law School. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Florida, and before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Tax Court and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He is also a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, has been named a Pennsylvania Super Lawyer and is listed in Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who in American Law and Who’s Who in America.

Renée Ballow

Renée Ballow joined Miller Investment Management in 2023 with close to two decades of experience at leading financial institutions including Northwestern Mutual, Merrill Lynch and Raymond James.

For eight years, Ms. Ballow was in the role of Registered Senior Client Associate and Branch Coach. Her experience includes Associate Compliance Director, Branch Coach, and Client Associate working with investments and insurance products.

Prior to joining Miller, Ms. Ballow was also registered with FINRA as an Investment Advisor. Renée is a graduate of Temple University and holds a Bachelor of Arts.

Christine M. Dostillio, CPA

Chief Financial Officer | Chief Compliance Officer

Ms. Dostillio joined Miller Investment Management in 2005 as Chief Financial Officer and serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer. Previously she spent ten years with Marcum LLP (formerly Margolis & Company, P.C.), managing audit and business advisory engagements for closely held entrepreneurial companies in a variety of industries including financial services, manufacturing, wholesale distribution and healthcare practices as well as non-profit organizations.

Ms. Dostillio earned a BS in Accounting from Philadelphia University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Pennsylvania and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) and the National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP).

Jeannine Gray

Ms. Gray rejoined Miller in 2020 as a Client Service Specialist. Previously she was Senior Property Manager and Operations Manager at Carlino Commercial Development, an owner-managed commercial real estate developer. Ms. Gray served as the Chief Administrative Officer with Miller from 2009-2015, and prior thereto worked with Caldwell Development Company, a ground up commercial real estate developer, CMS Companies and Temple University Health System.

Ms. Gray attended Temple University.

Karen L. Jones, CPA

Ms. Jones joined Miller in 2015 as a Controller focused on real estate and other investment partnerships. Previously, she worked for Citco Fund Services after 18 years with Centersquare Investment Management (formerly Urdang Capital Management), and Ernst & Young.

Ms. Jones earned a BS in Accounting from Widener University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Pennsylvania.

Alexander Komarov

Mr. Komarov joined Miller Investment Management in 2019 with a focus on firm-wide accounting, including private equity and real estate investment partnerships. Previously, he was at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. where he worked in Securities Services within the Corporate Investment Bank, including forecasting for products of Global Fund Services.

Mr. Komarov earned a BS in Finance from La Salle University.

Jean “Jeanie” A. Krepfle

Ms. Krepfle joined Miller Investment Management in 2004 and provides comprehensive administrative support for clients. Previously, she worked for 13 years at Morgan Stanley Investment Management (formerly Miller Anderson & Sherrerd), and Merrill Lynch.

Robert Miller

Mr. Miller joined Miller Investment Management in 2012 and currently serves as the firm's Director of Information Technology.

Mr. Miller earned a BA in History from New York University.

Christopher Williams

Mr. Williams joined Miller Investment Management in 2016 and focuses on firm-wide accounting, including public securities portfolios and private growth equity and real estate investment partnerships. Previously, he worked for Citco Fund Services, Blackrock, and SEI Investments in fund accounting and portfolio services.

Mr. Williams earned a BS in Finance from Pennsylvania State University.
